Lisa’s Rant….life and healthy eating

I almost forgot today was 9/11. I thought there was going to be a TON of traffic here in DC since they are doing a memorial at the Pentagon today. But no it was fine. I also left the house pretty early though. The radio station I listen to was talking about where they all were that day when they heard about the crashes. It’s crazy to think how long ago it was already! I was a freshman at Elon and had just gotten out of my 8am College Writing class. I was walking through our student center and saw everyone huddled around all the tv’s in the building. I was half asleep and just wanted to get back to my dorm for a nap so wasn’t paying attention just thought it was odd. Then my mom called me mid-nap and told me. It didn’t hit me until I turned on the tv and saw the footage. And like many others tried to call my bff in NYC who was going to school there and couldn’t get through.

So randomness for the day isn’t that random but: Where were you when you heard about the attack?

It’s prety interesting how every generation has one of these moments where people can remember where they were when they heard like for example the JFK assassination for our parents.

Ok on a lighter note and back to the food. I had a snack of raw broccoli dipped in Annie’s Goddess dressing last night while watching Pride and Prejudice with the roomies. Such a good movie!

This morning I started out with a Carnation Instant Breakfast drink (CIB). And some watermelon and kiwi from Whole Foods.

No coffee this morning I don’t want to get addicted again. So I’m going to power through!

Lunch date with the bf today!! I haven’t seen him since Monday since he’s been traveling for work.
